South Carolina


South Carolina known for its shoreline of subtropical beaches and marshlike sea islands, is a southeastern state in U.S.Its oldest city is Coastal Charleston which is defined by Old South plantations, pastel-colored houses,  and Fort Sumter, where the Civil War’s opening shots were fired. The Grand Strand which is to the north is  a roughly 60-mile stretch of beachfront known for the vacation town Myrtle Beach and the golf courses.

Virginia


Virginia, with a long Atlantic Ocean coastline, stretches from the Chesapeake Bay to the Appalachian Mountains, is a southeastern state. With many historic landmarks including Founding Father Thomas Jefferson’s iconic Charlottesville plantation, Monticello, it is to be known as the oldest of the 13 original colonies. Its living-history museums reenacting Colonial and Revolutionary-era life are Colonial Williamsburg and the Jamestown Settlement. Richmond, among the country's oldest cities, is its capital.
