Virginia

Virginia, with a long Atlantic Ocean coastline, stretches from the Chesapeake Bay to the Appalachian Mountains, is a southeastern state. With many historic landmarks including Founding Father Thomas Jefferson’s iconic Charlottesville plantation, Monticello, it is to be known as the oldest of the 13 original colonies. Its living-history museums reenacting Colonial and Revolutionary-era life are Colonial Williamsburg and the Jamestown Settlement. Richmond, among the country's oldest cities, is its capital.
